Tax Lawprovides you with a solid grounding in the law and principles relating to taxation, including the taxation of business. It provides you with a general understanding of the operation of the tax system, to enable you to analyse accurately the tax consequences of a given set of facts, and to make critical assessments of the law covered in the module. International Criminal Law analyses the key principles of international criminal law. It examines legislation and prosecution of international crimes such as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and aggression.

In most cases, exams are held during the day on a weekday – if you have daytime commitments, you will need to make arrangements for daytime attendance – but some exams are held in the evening. Methods School

These competitions give you an opportunity to present legal issues before a judge, against an opposing counsel. A range of staff are available to provide further support, including an academic support tutor, a pro-bono scheme co-ordinator and specialist law librarians. You will take four compulsory 20 credit Law modules and two optional 20 credit modules in Politics in your first year, providing you with a solid base for the next two years of your degree programme. Choose a module taught in-conjunction with Westminster which includes teaching by clerks of the House of Commons and study visits. Assessment can also incorporate assessment through oral presentation and argument in in the style of legal practice , and client based work and reflection through our Law Clinic.
