PAWR will directly contribute to breaking down the digital divide, a key barrier to education and economic progress, allow rapid exploration with various cost-effective technologies, and increase supply-chain diversity, enhancing supply- chain security. Observations by Gordon Moore about the regular and timely increase in computational capacity and Robert Dennard about the proportional scaling of the size and power of transistors have largely held true over the last few decades. This has enabled the computing industry to nearly double the performance and functionality of digital electronics roughly every two years within a fixed cost and area.

For two year Taught Masters programmes, the scholarship is available in year one only. The University requires a deposit to be paid by International applicants in receipt of an offer to this programme and who require a Certificate of Acceptance for Studies from the University in order that they can apply for a student visa. You will be allocated a supervisor and progress will be monitored against the specification in terms of implementation and testing as appropriate. In this module you will develop an understanding of the design of algorithms, with a focus on time and space complexity. You will examine basic algorithms, looking at the implementation and analysis of linear search, binary search, and basic sorting, including insertion sort, selection sort, merger sort, quick sort, and heap sort. You will consider alternative data structure representations, such as binary search trees, hash tables, and binary heaps, and will gain an insight into the basics of graph algorithms.

All programs and data processing are run in the CPU and all hardware components are, to some extent, controlled by it. Some courses involve visits away from campus and you may be required to pay some or all of the costs of travel, accommodation and food and drink.
